We’re investing more than £17,000 in projects that will give children and young people across Chippenham new opportunities to learn, grow and thrive.
Through the first round of our 2026/27 Organisation Grants programme, we’ve awarded £17,034 to five local organisations delivering projects that help young people build confidence, improve their wellbeing, develop new skills and experience activities they might not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy.
We’ve awarded £5,000 to Splash Wiltshire to deliver its Positive Activity Days programme for young people from the Chippenham area aged 8 to 17.
Working with referrals from schools, social workers, family support teams and Wiltshire Police Horizon Victims Support team, Splash supports young people facing challenges in their lives, many of whom are vulnerable and disadvantaged.
Our funding will provide 120 Splash activity day places, helping young people build confidence, resilience, friendships and positive support networks through regular activities during evenings, weekends and school holidays.
We’ve awarded £5,000 to Riverbank Studios to help sustain its accessible youth music programme for young people aged 13–19, and up to 25 for those with SEND.
Our funding will contribute towards creative mentoring, staff development and hire fees to enable affordable and supported rehearsal spaces, ensuring young people can access professional musicians, develop their musical talents and express themselves creatively in a safe and welcoming environment
Our grant will enable 1st Chippenham Scouts to replace ten Scout Association-approved camping tents that have reached the end of their 20-year lifespan.
The new tents will support Beavers, Cubs and Scouts over the coming years, ensuring more young people can enjoy camping and outdoor adventures. For many, it will be their first opportunity to sleep away from home, develop practical outdoor skills, work as a team and grow in confidence.
We’ve awarded £3,720 to Voices for Life to deliver its Stardust music and wellbeing programme at Monkton Park Primary School, King’s Lodge School and St Mary’s Catholic Primary School.
Over ten weeks, around 90 children from the three schools will explore emotions and wellbeing through singing before joining children from across Wiltshire in a large-scale public performance. Combining music education with emotional wellbeing, the programme helps children build confidence, resilience and teamwork while ensuring every child can take part, regardless of background or ability.
Our funding will enable students with severe learning disabilities at Silverwood Sixth Form to take part in accessible paddle sport sessions at Monkton Park.
Delivered by specialist instructors, the sessions will provide opportunities to experience kayaking and paddleboarding in a safe, supportive environment while developing confidence, communication, independence and resilience. The activity will empower young people to step outside their comfort zones, improve their self-esteem and challenge perceptions of what individuals with severe learning disabilities can achieve.

These projects will have a lasting impact on local young people, helping them discover new experiences, develop friendships and help them to reach their potential.
Supporting organisations is just one part of our grants programme. We also provide individual grants throughout the year to help residents experiencing financial hardship with essentials such as white goods, furniture, food and energy costs, mobility aids and education.
So far, this financial year, we’ve awarded over £10,600 in grant funding to individuals, helping 22 local people and families access practical support when they need it most.
Continuing our support through multi-year grants
Supporting organisations over several years gives them the confidence to plan and continue delivering services that make a real difference to local people.
We’ve also just released second and third-year payments for a number of our existing multi-year grants that were originally awarded during the June grant rounds in 2025 and 2026. These organisations are already demonstrating the value of our longer-term funding:
Olive Branch Counselling – final £10,000 payment of a three-year grant (Awarded £30,000 total in July 2024).
Our funding has supported Clinical Manager costs, helping Olive Branch expand access to affordable counselling and strengthen long-term mental health support: In the last couple of years, they have supported more than 1,000 Chippenham residents to access counselling, significantly increasing their capacity.
Wiltshire and Bath Independent Living Trust – second £10,000 payment of a three-grant (Awarded £30,000 in July 2025).
Our funding has supported Occupational Therapy assessments and equipment testing, helping Chippenham residents live safely and independently. Wiltshire and Bath Independent Living Trust have helped 261 Chippenham residents access Occupational Therapy assessments over the past year, while also reducing waiting times from around six weeks to just three weeks.
The RISE Trust – final £10,000 year payment of a two-year grant (Awarded £20,000 in July 2026)
Our funding has supported the Mentor Me programme, providing one-to-one mentoring for children in Chippenham primary schools. The RISE Trust has provided 734 hours of one-to-one mentoring for 15 children across nine Chippenham primary schools, with 100% of children making measurable improvements in confidence and wellbeing
Dorothy House Hospice – second £10,000 payment of a three-year grant (Awarded £30,000 in July 2025)
Our funding has supported the Chippenham Community Palliative Care Team. Dorothy House Hospice has supported 331 people in the Chippenham CPCT through this team, helping more patients receive specialist end-of-life care in the comfort of their own homes. Families have also benefitted from emotional and practical support.
Young Carers Development Trust – second £5,000 payment of a three-year grant (Awarded £15,000 in July 2025)
Our funding has supported long-term mentoring and educational support, helping a small group of young carers from Chippenham to build confidence, raise aspirations and plan for their futures despite the challenges of their caring responsibilities
