Grant
Eligibility
As a place-based charity, our grants are intended to benefit Chippenham residents.
Grants For Individuals
To see if you can apply for help from us as an individual, you need to meet certain requirements.
You must:
- Live in the Parish of Chippenham – you can check whether your address is within the Chippenham Parish here.
- Have lived in Chippenham for six months or more.
- Get benefits based on how much money you have or have a low income.
The benefits that allow you to apply are:
- Universal Credit
- Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- Pension Credits
- Housing Benefit
For low income, this means:
- For one person: Making less than £16,000 per year
- For a couple or family: Making up to £30,000 per year with savings of less than £5,000
If you meet these eligibility requirements about where you live and your income, then you may be able to get help from our individual grant programme.
Grants For Organisations
To be eligible for funding organisations must be based in, and/or deliver services within the Chippenham Parish.
The funding requested must deliver against one or more of our strategic outcomes:
-
- Increased community participation and cohesion.
- Improved physical and/or mental health with reduced health inequalities.
- Improved education and secure employment.
- More people with safe and suitable homes and a reduction of relative poverty (e.g., food, fuel).
- Increased physical activity, participation in sports, arts, culture, and time outdoors in nature.
We welcome applications from small community groups, clubs, and formally constituted organisations.
-
- All applicants must have a community bank account in the group or organisation’s name. We cannot make grant payments to individuals.
- Community groups/clubs should have a simple committee and constitution in place. For example, decision-makers should not all be close family members or married to each other.
- Formally constituted organisations (e.g. charities, CICs, not-for-profits) should also have at least two unrelated directors, trustees, or members of a management committee.
- We also accept grant requests from Chippenham schools (within the Parish boundary), Wiltshire College & University Centre, and local government organisations.
Groups/organisations can apply to CBLC for up to £10,000 per year. This is not restricted to number of applications allowed and as long as the total does not exceed £10,000, organisations can apply more than once per year.
We operate on a grant round system with three application deadlines per year. All grant applications must be submitted by the appropriate round deadline to be considered for that funding cycle.
