What We Can Help With

Christmas can be a stressful time of the year, especially for those on low incomes. Our Christmas Voucher Scheme supports individuals and families living in Chippenham by providing supermarket vouchers to help ease the financial pressures brought on not only by Christmas but also by rising living costs over winter.

We opened up the scheme last year to allow people apply directly to us for funding via an online application. We gave out £46,475 in total, supporting over 300 individuals and households with grants ranging from £75 to £175.

How to Apply

Eligibility requirements

You must:

Live in the Parish of Chippenham and be receiving means-tested benefits &/or have a low income:

  • Single person: Income below £16,000/year
  • Couple/family: Income below £30,000/year AND savings under £5,000
  • Check whether your address is within the Chippenham Parish boundary here.

Applying is quite straightforward: –

  • First, take our quick eligibility quiz (which will be found at the bottom of this webpage once the scheme opens).
  • If you meet the criteria, you’ll automatically move on to a short application form where you can provide your details and submit supporting documents*.
  • Your application will be assessed and if it is approved we’ll send your supermarket voucher to you by email and/or text.

What Documents You Need

If you’re receiving means-tested benefits and paying Council Tax:

Submit 2 documents:

  1. Council Tax bill

  2. Benefit statement (e.g. Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, etc.)

If you’re on a low income:

Submit 3 documents:

  1. Council Tax bill

  2. Payslip or benefits statement

  3. Bank statement from the last month showing income

Note:

  • Christmas Vouchers are limited to ONE per household.
  • We accept clear photos, screenshots, or copies of documents.
  • All documents need to be the most recent that you have. E.g. Council Tax bill should be for the current year, payslips need to be from the last month etc.
