We are delighted to announce our latest grant of £30,000 to Chippenham Community Hub, providing essential funding support over the next three years. Our commitment of £10,000 per year will help sustain the Hub’s operations at their expanded Timber Street location.

Our CEO, Beth Gardner, explains: “The Hub has proven itself to be an invaluable resource for Chippenham residents. Their work in addressing social isolation and supporting vulnerable community members aligns perfectly with our mission to enhance the wellbeing of Chippenham residents.”

We’re particularly impressed by the Hub’s numerous successful community initiatives, including their Seniors Friendship Group and ‘Downtown Days’ project, which helps isolated residents reconnect with their town centre. Their achievements in leading the North Wiltshire response to the Ukraine crisis, coordinating the local Warm Rooms initiative, and establishing a 70-member Town Team focused on town centre regeneration demonstrate further their role in our community.

Sandie Webb, Chair of Trustees at Chippenham Community Hub, highlighted the impact of our support: “This funding comes at a critical time for us. Our new location on Timber Street offers double the space of our previous site, allowing us to expand our services and welcome even more community members through our doors. The grant from CBLC will help ensure we can maintain our open-door policy and continue supporting those who need us most.”

The Hub’s work aligns perfectly with our charitable objectives, addressing multiple community needs including, health and wellbeing and social isolation. Their close collaboration with Wiltshire Council and local charities makes them a crucial link in Chippenham’s community support network, and their new, larger premises will enhance opportunities for partnership working through additional venue space and networking facilities.
