Over the last award quarter we have given out grants to a range of different organisations for a variety of different activities and needs. These have included: –
£5,000.00 awarded to Abbeyfield School to support the work of 2 new members of staff in providing additional mentoring, wellbeing and mental health support to pupils in need following the Covid-19 lockdowns.
£15,000 awarded to Doorway towards the costs associated with moving to new premises at the Citadel, supporting the transformation of Doorway’s services.
£2,500 awarded to Wiltshire College & University Centre to support Foundation Studies students in gaining confidence through extra enrichment activities and using public transport following Covid restrictions.
£1,500 awarded to Chippenham & District Talking Newspapers to update their recording equipment and maintain their service to blind and partially sighted listeners from Chippenham and surrounding villages.
£4,825 awarded to Wilts & Berks Canal Trust to support the works being undertaken on the stretch of the canal through Chippenham, helping to improve the waterway for the benefit of local residents.
£1,500 to Chippenham Town Council to provide 4 sporting park days during the school summer holidays – free for up to 40 Chippenham children (primary/Secondary age) at any one time to participate in a range of supervised sports sessions run by Up & Under sports.
£500 to Chippenham Museum towards their hosting of an art exhibition as part of the Peacock Arts Trail 11-19 September 2021. This exhibition will give the opportunity for a group of Chippenham ACE artists to work together and show their work to the wider community and to be part of this well-established and publicised trail.
£460 to Chippenham Independent Artists towards eight months venue Hire for Art and Craft Fairs in Chippenham.
Our grants awarded to individuals during this period have included awards for food vouchers, counselling support, furniture, white goods, clothing, house repairs and a scooter battery. You can find out about our grants to individuals and make an enquiry here.
We have allocated £400 so far from our Community Restart funding pot which is an allocation of money that has been set aside to support local community groups and clubs with up to £100 for their restarting costs after the pandemic. You can find more information about that here.
