Our Charity is dedicated to supporting low-income households in Chippenham. For over a decade, our initiatives have included an annual Christmas Voucher Scheme. This scheme provides supermarket vouchers to help alleviate costs for Chippenham residents who may be struggling at this time of year.
Since 1st December, we have distributed vouchers to 345 households in Chippenham, spending a total amount of £34,410, an 14% increase on last year.
While the funds for these vouchers originate from our endowed income fund dating back to Queen Mary’s legacy from 1554, the success of our initiative hinges on the collaboration with local agencies and community organisations. They play a vital role in identifying individuals and families in Chippenham who may need a boost, extending our reach outside of the people that contact us directly for grant support.
We would like to say a big thank you to all the nominating organisations instrumental in facilitating the distribution of vouchers and making this initiative possible.
While our Charity remains committed to supporting vulnerable households throughout the year, please be aware that our office will be closed from 12pm on Friday 22nd December, reopening again at 9am on Tuesday 2nd January 2024.
