The Arc Skatepark
The Arc Skatepark is a free outdoor skate facility overlooking Westmead Playing Field in Chippenham. It opened in April 2022 and was funded by Chippenham Borough Lands Charity (CBLC) with support of £200,000 from Wiltshire Council. It forms a key complement to The Arc climbing centre and The Arc Park, creating a multi‑use community hub on CBLC-owned land at Westmead.
Made from durable concrete and built with all ability levels in mind, the facility caters to skateboarders, BMX riders, scooter users, and inline skaters. From street-style ledges and a bowl section, the layout allows for creative riding and progression in a welcoming, open space.

Background
The skatepark was designed and built by Bristol-based specialists CANVAS – Skateparks and Public Spaces, known for custom concrete skateboarding environments with durable, community-led design. The build was the culmination of around six years of planning and development grounded in town-wide advocacy for a skate facility in Chippenham. This long-awaited facility was shaped by community feedback and our thanks go to the local skatepark community for their input.
The official opening in April 2022 was marked by a lively event featuring professional skaters, local demos, and a family-friendly skate jam. The Arc has quickly become a lively local hub, drawing families, youth groups, and recreational skaters. It’s also host to events like Burt’s Fest run by Burt Boards.
