St Mary’s has transformed an unused mobile classroom into two dedicated Art and Music spaces, designed to enrich the learning environment for its pupils. This grant contributes towards the purchase of non-interactive screens, a curriculum requirement to display teaching content for all students.
The school emphasises the importance of the arts in supporting mental wellbeing, improving educational performance, self-esteem, and creativity. These new spaces will benefit the entire school community, from early years to primary-aged pupils, as well as local toddler groups and nursery children. This grant supports the school’s broader fundraising efforts to fully equip these rooms and enhance the educational experience for all its learners.
Not all children’s strengths are in English and Maths but they are able to shine through the expressive arts. This development of what we can offer at St Mary’s is not only enabling us to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum but it is helping us to celebrate and value all of the unique skills and talents that the children have.
