At CBLC, we support local people and groups, maintain valuable green public spaces, and encourage community connection – contributing to a stronger, more connected Chippenham.
Enriching community life
As a responsible steward, CBLC maintains several of Chippenham’s green spaces, including Westmead Open Space, Mortimores Wood, Baydons Meadow and Westmead Playing field. These areas offer residents opportunities for recreation, relaxation, and connection with nature whilst also supporting the town’s environmental sustainability.


Empowering individuals
CBLC is dedicated to empowering individuals within the Chippenham community by providing vital welfare grants. These provide practical help in times of need, offering a lifeline to eases everyday pressures and creates opportunities for a better quality of life. We can help with essentials like white goods, furniture, food vouchers, bankruptcy fees, mobility aids, education and more.
Strengthening our community
Our organisational grants support a wide range of groups and organisations that play an active role in enriching local life. The funding enables inclusive initiatives that meet local needs, strengthen community ties, and broaden participation. We actively encourage collaboration so that every grant achieves the greatest possible impact.


Providing community spaces
CBLC plays a crucial role in sustaining and managing various community spaces across Chippenham. From running Pewsham Community Centre, to providing facilities for other charitable organisations, we provide welcoming and accessible places for people to come together. Our portfolio also includes The Arc – a climbing centre, café, public skatepark and children’s play park, offering recreational opportunities and encouraging healthy lifestyles for residents of all ages.
Connecting the community
Our “One Chippenham” community website is a hub for local information, events, and activities. It helps individuals, groups, businesses, and organisations find and share details about community life including wellbeing, support services, clubs, and classes. The Chippenham Activity Finder makes it easy to discover local opportunities, while the regularly updated events calendar helps residents of all ages stay connected and involved.
