Jubilee Building
Still owned by CBLC today, the Jubilee Building was our charity’s home until August 2022. This beautiful Grade II Listed landmark, originally known as the Jubilee Institute, was built in 1887 to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee.
The Market Place site was gifted by Sir John Neeld, next to Spink’s Printing Works, and construction was made possible thanks to £1,000 raised by public subscription – a true community effort.
From the very beginning the Jubilee building played a central role in education and self-improvement, hosting classes in art, chemistry, French, shorthand, bookkeeping and typing. It later became the town’s public library, a role is proudly held for 40 years from 1934.
Today, the building is home to Wiltshire Citizens Advice (rent-free provided by CBLC) and offers valued space to local organisations such as Victim Support and Doorway Wiltshire.

Bank House
Bank House, our charity’s main office is a Grade II Listed Building built around 1873 as part of the former Nestlé complex. This Victorian building is an important part of Chippenham’s industrial heritage and reflects the town’s growth during the late 19th century.
Today, Bank house continues to serve the local community as the base for CBLC. The building also provides office space for tenants, ensuring it remains an active and useful part of the town’s business and community landscape.
