Individuals

Our individual grant programme is aimed at helping low-income residents of Chippenham who are facing challenging circumstances.

What We Can Help With

We give grants for things like:

  • White goods (fridges, washing machines, etc.)
  • Furniture
  • Mobility aids
  • Bankruptcy Fees
  • Help with food and energy costs
  • Funeral costs
  • Education resources
  • Course fees (up to Level 3) with associated travel

Who Can Apply

To see if you can apply for help from us, you need to meet certain requirements. You must:

  • Live in Chippenham Parish and have lived there for more than 6 months
  • Get benefits based on how much money you have or have a low income

The benefits that allow you to apply are:

  • Universal Credit
  • Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
  • Pension Credits
  • Housing Benefit

For low income, this means:

  • For one person: Making less than £16,000 per year
  • For a couple or family: Making up to £30,000 per year with savings of less than £5,000

If you meet these eligibility requirements about where you live and your income, then you may be able to get help from our individual grant programme.

You can apply for yourself, or an agency can apply for you. We accept applications anytime. Our staff can help you apply if it’s difficult.

Drop-In Support Sessions Available

We offer a few options to help you complete your application or answer any questions you may have about our Individual Grants Programme. Drop in to see one of our Grant Managers at one of the following:

Weekly

Every Wednesday between 10am to 2pm at the CAP Cafe, Station Hill Baptist Church, 4 Station Hill, SN15 1EG

Weekly

Every Friday between 10am and 2pm at the Chippenham Community Hub, 1 Gladstone Parade, Timber Street, Chippenham, SN15 3BS

Monthly

On the last Tuesday of every month between 10 to 11.30am at Chippenham Foodbank, Salvation Army, Foghamshire, Chippenham, SN15 1HB

How To Apply

You can apply for the grant yourself, or someone else can apply for you (with your permission).

  1. Fill out the online eligibility form first. It will let you know if you qualify to apply.
  2. If you do qualify, you can go straight onto fill out the application form.
  3. Answer all the questions on the application form. If you need to take a break, you can save it and finish later.*

*Save and resume later

You can request a link to save your progress on our application form and return to it later. If you keep working on your form after saving, you’ll need to request and save a new link.

Each time you add more information, make sure to:

  1. Click “Save and Resume Later”
  2. Copy or email yourself the new link

Only the latest link will work. If you use an old link after making changes, your most recent updates will not be saved.
