We’re looking for a Grants Manager to help us ensure that our charity’s funds reach the right people to make a positive impact on the lives of Chippenham residents. This exciting opportunity will focus on distributing grants monies for welfare, education, arts and leisure projects.

We are looking for a Grants Manager to join our small, dedicated team 30 hours a week who will:

  • Ensure that all grant applications are correctly administered.
  • Encourage, support, meet and give advice to applicants. This includes individuals applying for welfare support, as well as organisations looking for funding for projects, equipment etc.
  • Promote CBLC to individuals, organisations, statutory bodies and other agencies.
  • Work with colleagues to deliver the strategic objectives of the charity.
  • Promote the grants programme and encourage applications.
  • Build strong and effective relationships with key partners and organisations to deliver a joined-up approach to dealing with community issues in Chippenham.
  • Explore ways to continually improve the service the charity provides to the community.

This is a busy role, with the current cost of living crisis adding to individuals’ need for support. You will need to be resilient and a self-starter, with the ability to manage your own caseload and prioritise your work effectively.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

 Knowledge, Training and Qualifications

Essential

  • Excellent numeracy skills shown by a good pass at GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Excellent English language skills shown by a good pass at GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Recent work experience within a welfare, community, grants or social work setting.

Desirable

  • NVQ in Information, Advice and Guidance at Level 4 or above, or substantial professional experience in providing advice/guidance.

  • Excellent MS Office skills, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Previous experience of working within a charity
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • A good general background in general advice
  • Good team player with flexible approach
  • Ability to write and present reports concisely
  • Ability to build strong and effective working relationships with external partners and organisations
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet tight deadlines
  • Fully committed to training
  • Ability to identify own training needs
  • Ability to present information clearly in a variety of forms (reports, PowerPoint, delivering presentations verbally)

This role is part-time: 30 hours a week

£26,234.19 per year (this equates to the full-time equivalent of £32,792.74)

Work Location: Chippenham

We offer above the statutory minimum holidays from day one (starting at 31 days including bank holidays and 3 directed days between Christmas and New Year, rising with service to a maximum of 36 days pro-rata).
